At Newlands School our Whakatauki is important to us.

Te Rito o te Harakeke:

Hutia te rito o te harakeke.

Kei hea te Komako e ko.

Ki mai ki ahau.

He aha te mea nui o te ao.

Maku e ki atu.

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.

The rito represents the young learner who is: supported by family and whanau and school, the new learning community.  At Newlands School we support all learners so they grow tall and strong and ready to be successful creative learners for the rest of their lives.
